Registered Nutritional Therapist specialising in skin health
HELLO, I’M NINA…
I am an international Nutritional Therapist, BSc (DipION, BANT, CNHC) on a mission to help you to feel and look like the best version of yourself. I work very closely with my clients to uncover root causes of the symptoms and issues they experience. As a result I am able to develop personalised nutrition and lifestyle plans that are achievable and rewarding. I love sharing my knowledge about food and lifestyle habits and about the amazing things they can do for you. My programmes are designed to empower you to take charge of your own skin health. I will be there to guide you along the way.
Before my studies at the Institute of Optimum Nutrition in London I worked as a Business Consultant in Hamburg. While I enjoyed improving business processes (just as I am improving bodily processes now), I was struggling with a desk job. A mainly sedentary lifestyle, stressful deadlines and quick lunches at the desk were very quickly showing up on my face, my hands and my legs. I was in my twenties but felt like I was staring at my acne-ridden teenage self in the mirror. I was avoiding meeting new people because I didn’t want anyone to shake my eczema covered hands. As my confidence was crumbling I began to learn about the impact of gut health on the rest of the body. Supported by my wonderful Mama who is a holistic skin and hair practitioner I set out on my self-healing journey. My Mama's wisdom of what to put on my skin mixed with my knowledge about the internal connection to the digestive system proved to be a powerful combination. Building on this strong foundation, lead by my curiosity and general passion for food, I ended up where I am now - able to share my knowledge and help you get the same amazing results I did.

ABOUT NUTRITIONAL THERAPY
Nutrients and other food components influence the function of your body, protect against disease, restore health, and determine your response to changes in the environment.
Nutritional Therapy is the application of nutrition science in the promotion of health, peak performance and individual care. As a registered Nutritional Therapists I use a wide range of tools to assess and identify potential nutritional imbalances and understand how these may contribute to your individual symptoms and health concerns. This approach allows me to work with you as an individual to address nutritional balance and help support your body towards maintaining health. Nutritional Therapy is recognised as a complementary medicine and is relevant for individuals with chronic conditions, as well as those looking for support to enhance their health and wellbeing.
As a practitioner I consider each individual to be unique and recommend personalised nutrition and lifestyle programmes rather than a ‘one size fits all’ approach. I never recommend nutritional therapy as a replacement for medical advice and always refer any client with ‘red flag’ signs or symptoms to their medical professional. I will also frequently work alongside a medical professional and will communicate with other healthcare professionals involved in your care to explain any nutritional therapy programme that has been provided.
Why use Nutritional Therapy?
While my specific interest lies in nutrition and lifestyle support for skin health issues such as eczema, acne, rosacea, psoriasis or premature ageing, my clients also often need support to achieve optimum energy levels, healthy blood sugar balance, emotional and psychological wellbeing, optimum gastrointestinal health and tolerance to a broad range of food groups. Some people also simply want to check that they are on the right track with regard to healthy eating. Others may want to lose weight or get help with their symptoms.
Nutrition and lifestyle approaches to healthcare have been shown to support the health of all the major systems of the body (skeletal, muscular, nervous, respiratory, cardiovascular, digestive, excretory, endocrine, immune, reproductive and integumentary [skin, hair, nails]).
What happens in a Nutritional Therapy consultation?
Before your first consultation, I will provide a health and nutrition questionnaire for you to complete. An initial consultation lasts 90 minutes, and in this time I ask detailed questions such as:
current health concerns
diagnosis and treatment
levels of physical activity
use of medication and supplements
I evaluate your individual needs and use the extensive evidence base for nutritional science to develop a personalised, safe and effective nutrition and lifestyle programme. In your follow up consultations we will monitor your progress and make any necessary adjustments.
